Don’t worry about a thing during the 2.5-hour tour Hobbiton Movie Set. Please note that no meal is included.
Tours depart from The Shire’s Rest™. You can drive to The Shire’s Rest, park your vehicle, and join the tour. Hobbiton Movie Set coaches will transport you to the movie set.
Ensure you arrive at The Shire’s Rest at least 20 minutes before your scheduled tour time. Visit Ticketing desk upon arrival and present your confirmation, either on your phone or by quoting your reference number, tour time, and party name. Our team will print your tour tickets and provide further instructions.
The full walking tour covers approximately 2 km, with some steps.
Children and infants (0-10 years old) are FREE but must have a ticket allocated prior to arrival and be accompanied by a full-paying adult. Please book a ticket for all children in your group.
To be served alcohol, you must produce a valid ID. Accepted forms of ID include a current passport or New Zealand Driver’s License.
Tours operate in all weather conditions. Umbrellas are provided in the event of rain. In extreme weather conditions, we reserve the right to make alternative tour arrangements.
We strongly recommend booking in advance as tours often sell out, especially during the busy Summer months (December – February).
The flying of drones is not permitted on or around the Movie Set as per the property owner’s regulations.

Amendments can be made up to 48 hours before your pre-booked tour time, subject to availability.
If your preferred tour time or date is not available and you would like to cancel your booking, our cancellation policy applies.
If you change your mind or need to cancel for any other reason, a cancellation fee will apply according to VANZ Travel’s terms and conditions available on our website.
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the tour date are non-refundable.
